The Accidental Publisher
Thrive! Books began not with a business plan, but with a realization. During the global pandemic, author David Harrison transitioned from blogger to published author with his debut, If God, Then… The Logical God.
However, it was a chance encounter with a literary giant that truly defined our mission. While revisiting C.S. Lewis’ classic Mere Christianity, David—born and raised in England—found himself constantly pausing to research archaic phrases and complex vocabulary (C.S. Lewis was a renowned professor of English of both Oxford and Cambridge universities). A single paragraph could cover multiple pages. He realized that if these masterpieces were a challenge for him, they were likely a closed door for many modern readers.
Determined to unlock these treasures for a new generation, David set out to “translate” these classics into the clear, everyday English we speak today.
From a Passion Project to #1 Bestsellers
What started as a labour of love quickly resonated with readers worldwide. The “Everyday English” series has empowered thousands to engage with profound truths without the barrier of outdated language:

Why “Thrive!”
The name of the publishing company was born from David’s work on the future of the modern church, the book’s working title was Thrive! Turning the Church Right-side Up (Now titled: Fresh Start—Returning to New Testament Normal). Today, Thrive! Books stands as a testament to that vision: providing the clarity and inspiration readers need to grow, understand, and—above all—thrive in their faith and daily lives.
